Last year You were told you had stage 4 metastatic lung cancer on your left side which was eating into your rib.It was hard to believe the terrible news from the consultant at university hospital coventry. You underwent full blown Chemo and Radiotherapy which shrunk the tumor and it was a relief and hoping that you could beat this terrible Cancer. You were told after 6 weeks another lot of Chemo and Radiotherapy was imminent as the debris from the treatment had spread to the other lung. You were disappointed but still hopefull as we all were...and we managed to get your weight 3 stone higher to get you strong enough for the second lot of treatment ..still hopeful..you went ahead..but this time it was 100% chemo and Radiotherapy and it caused your potasdium levels to drop..you began to bleed and was rushed back into hospital by ambulance. We couldnt visit regularly because of Covid.. And only saw you 2 times with the doctor the last to not resuscitate as it had also gone to your liver.it was Christmas eve your 64th Birthday But were not allowed to visit so called you on your mobile.sometimes you answered and sometimes your phone was switched off.some presents were handed in but you forgot how to open them and no one helped you.You begged me to get you out of there on the phone you just wanted to be with your family.I found out they were moving you far away and told them not to move you.on Christmas Day it was awful couldnt get you on the phone..no nurses around ..I managed to get you eventually you said your throat was dry I. Said have a drink love but you couldnt reach the cup.no nurse around to help.weight dropping all the time.sandwich offered and protein drinks the next day was boxing day they tried to move you again! I was so angry at this...as I wasnt told.a nurse mentioned it and I called the place where they were sending you the other side of Stratford miles away and told them to refuse him.Thankfully they did...at 5.30am boxing day morning Roy deteriorated they callled me at 7.30pm to go in with my family.Roy had already passed away.why didnt they call me at 5.30am? I asked they said they hadnt got my phone number???? Unbelievable.. Roy was in 19 days he fell outside and was left on the damp grass for 1 hour...Next day on a visit to see the doctor Roy was still in muddy pyjamas.I asked a nurse to change them.I thanked the security who got to him and reception for allerting them as the receptionist near maternity didnt know what to do..You can imagine how we felt...angry at being left in an isle before finally seeing Roy it was too late...Roy also caught covid in the hospital from another patient apparently..it was stated cause of death was metastatic lung Cancer and Covid pneumonia.Nurses are supposed to care? We know different... Ward 35 I hope to God I never go there.
